RIPE Database

Introduction

The RIPE Database contains contact and registration information for networks in the RIPE NCC service region. The RIPE Database contains IP addresses, Autonomous System (AS) Numbers, organisations or customers that are associated with these resources, and related Points of Contact (POC). The information in the RIPE Database is available to the public for agreed Internet operation purposes, but is under copyright.

RIPE Database Documents

We have changed the way we maintain and publish the manuals and supporting documentation for RIPE Database users. You can find the new documents in the RIPE Database Document Library.

Searching the RIPE Database

There are three ways of searching the RIPE Database:

• Use the online search facility.
• Query whois.ripe.net directly from the command line.
• Use the free text search

Updating the RIPE Database

• Use the online update facility (webupdates)
• Send an update by e-mail
• Synchronous Updates

You can now use X.509 authentication with webupdates.
